Roundtable for the 1st of March – tradition commonly celebrated in Romania, Republic of North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Republic of Moldova

On the occasion of 1st of March (2022), Ms. Irena Todorova, Executive Director of the Regional Centre Sofia – UNESCO, took part in a round table dedicated to the celebrations of the 1st of March in the countries Bulgaria, Republic of North Macedonia, Republic of Moldova and Romania. The event gathered representatives from different countries and generations and they learned more about the regional practices in the celebration of this day. The main goal of the event was better transmission of the tradition to the younger generations, as well as the establishment of a better international cooperation based on shared traditions and values.

During her visit in Skopje, she had meeting with the Minister of Culture of the Republic of North Macedonia, Ms. Bissera Kostadinovska – Stojchevska, and with Velika Stojkova Serafimovska from the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” – Skopje.  She also met Ms. Antonia Veleva, the Director of the Bulgarian Cultural Information Center – Skopje and Mr. Dimitar Karastoyanov, temporary head of the Bulgarian Embassy in Skopje.[:]
